I have been reluctant to upgrade my wife’s phone, but maybe that’s another approach. Find the SmartApp published previously (example: DummySmartApp) Follow the steps to properly configure the SmartApp. This will take you to the IDE, where you. Open the SmartThings app: Select Automation tab (on bottom) Select SmartApps tab (on top) Scroll to the bottom and select Add a SmartApp. Press the New SmartApp button on the right of the page: Give your app a name, author, and description. When I go to the install a new instance of my own app (one that creates child apps) it keeps bringing me to the same page, i.e. It’s got to be something with the device. Since the newest update I have no longer been able to install my own SmartApp. Just keep trying with a steady finger press… easier said now that I have done it. Maybe throw in a force quit of the ST app and try again. Make sure your finger is not moving… press and hold in place. I encountered what you described when I first tried last night… kept getting the popup for About SmartThings so I assume I was not pressing correctly.
Then scroll down to see developer mode at the bottom of that screen. The background color changes to a darker shade as you are pressing and about 5 seconds later the background changes to white and I release my finger from pressing.
